Teeth Whitening - Zoom

Zoom is a professional in-office whitening procedure used to lighten discoloration of enamel and dentin caused by coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, and aging. At Smile Dentistry, we use the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp along with a 25% hydrogen peroxide gel to accelerate the whitening process. As the gel breaks down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to lift stains without affecting tooth structure. The procedure takes about one hour and includes three 15-minute sessions under the Zoom light. A sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste is applied afterward, and patients receive custom-fitted trays and a take-home whitening kit for touch-ups.

It is important to note that some patients may experience tooth sensitivity during the whitening process. This is sometimes due to the whitening agent that has penetrated the enamel to help remove stains on your teeth. This process can cause some patients to experience mild discomfort. However, this discomfort is temporary and will subside within 24-48-hours. It is also important to note that while every patient wants to have the brightest and whitest smile possible, not every patient is able to achieve these results. This is due to genetics, current stains, oral health, medications, tobacco, and a number of other factors that influence the brightness of our smiles. Some patients may also have permanently stained teeth, such as yellow or brown, and the teeth whitening procedure can only do so much. So, while we all want the brightest and whitest smiles, we want to ensure our patients expectations are properly met. We can cover all these details, and more, when you come in for your next dental appointment.

Dental Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted from porcelain or composite resin, designed to cover the front surface of your teeth and improve your smile. These restorations are commonly used to correct imperfections such as chips, cracks, discoloration, gaps, or overly gummy smiles. Depending on your needs, veneers can often be placed in one or a few visits. In some cases, veneers may be used to improve mild misalignment without the need for orthodontics.

At Smile Dentistry, we also offer no-prep composite veneers, which can typically be applied in a single appointment. For patients who prefer long-lasting, stain-resistant results, porcelain veneers are a more durable option and require minimal enamel removal before placement. In many cases, veneers may be paired with other treatments such as crowns or bonding to create a complete smile transformation.

Why Porcelain Veneers?    If you are dealing with cosmetic issues such as crooked, uneven, or widely spaced teeth, porcelain veneers can be a great alternative to braces. Veneers offer a non-orthodontic way to achieve a straighter-looking smile and are custom-designed to match the natural shape and color of your existing teeth. Many patients choose porcelain veneers to enhance both the symmetry and brightness of their smile with a more permanent and natural-looking solution.

How Porcelain Veneers Work? | Porcelain veneers are placed over the front surface of your teeth after a small amount of enamel is removed. The process begins with a consultation and impression of your teeth, followed by temporary veneers while your custom ones are being fabricated in a dental lab. At the final visit, each veneer is bonded in place using a specialized dental adhesive. Veneers are semi-translucent, which helps them blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, delivering immediate cosmetic improvement with a lifelike appearance.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin to improve the appearance of chipped, cracked, stained, or gapped teeth. Unlike crowns or veneers, bonding removes minimal natural tooth structure and can often be completed in one visit. Bonding is also a cost-effective option for minor cosmetic repairs.

Smile Dentistry also offers aesthetic contouring, where we reshape the sides of your teeth to improve balance and symmetry. Contouring is ideal for correcting small flaws such as minor crowding, uneven length, or worn edges. It is a conservative alternative to orthodontics or full restorations.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry provides a needle-free and gentle alternative to traditional tools, improving comfort and healing time for various dental procedures. At Smile Dentistry, we use dental lasers for gum contouring, bacterial removal, and soft-tissue treatment with minimal bleeding and faster recovery.

Benefits of laser dentistry include reduced need for anesthesia, decreased bleeding and swelling, fewer stitches, and lower risk of infection. It is especially useful for cosmetic procedures that require precision, such as reshaping the gum line or preparing teeth for restorations.
